In the sealed-off area, all enterprises will implement closed production or work from home.

TSMC

It is reported that TSMC has an 8-inch fab in Songjiang, Shanghai, which was built in 2003. According to the Economic Daily report, in response to this, TSMC stated in a statement that everything is in accordance with the local government's preventive measures and currently does not affect the production of the Shanghai plant. The industry believes that if production can still be maintained in the region, the short-term closure until April 5 will have limited impact.

SMIC

SMIC said its Shanghai plant is operating normally and will comply with relevant regulations. SMIC has three 8-inch fabs and one 12-inch fab in Shanghai.

Maolin said that the company cooperates with the local government's epidemic prevention policy, will continue to pay attention to the local epidemic situation, and take necessary contingency measures to ensure the safety and health of employees. It is estimated that this shutdown will have no major impact on the company's financial business.

PCB manufacturers

According to Taiwan media reports, the main production bases of some PCB (printed circuit board) manufacturers are located in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, which is under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province and is less affected by the closure of Shanghai. However, PCB manufacturers' products are mainly sold to local assembly plants, and then shipped to various places by the assembly plants. The assembly plants will adjust the production lines and transportation methods according to the orders of the brand manufacturers. Some auto boards are sold to Europe and the United States and need to be shipped by Shanghai. The impact is still to be assessed.

However, there is still a certain shortage of materials in the U.S. and European auto assembly plants recently, and the auto sheet manufacturers still have a considerable amount of inventory in the U.S. and European delivery warehouses, which can meet the needs of customers for a period of time.
